Getting Around the Airport
The terminal building structure at the Amarillo Rick Husband International Airport consists of one main terminal building with two levels. It has been recently expanded to include seven new terminal gates, a larger area for meet and greet, and free WiFi. There are glass passenger boarding bridges that make a good experience for the AMA airport passengers.
Main Terminal
The lower level / Baggage Claim level consists of two baggage claim carousels across the entrance with a baggage lobby in the center. There are car rental counters alongside the entrance to the extreme left and lost baggage offices alongside the entrance to the extreme right.
The upper level / Arrivals and Departures level consists of a ticket lobby with counters for American, United, Southwest, and Via Air. There is an airport police and operations center alongside the entrance to the extreme right, across which there is an airport admin office and kritser conference room. Near this area, an English field conference room can be found in the center. The ticket lobby extends to include the passenger security screening and passenger meet and greets area. There is a hold room seating towards the very end which there are a gift shop kiosk and a bar.
Food, Shops & Amenities
There are many options for shopping and dining around AMA airport. Some notable shops and restaurants include a gift shop near the ticket counters on the upper level, near which you can find the first restaurant and lounge area. Near the holding room seating area, you can find a bar and gift shop kiosks in one corner, and a restaurant and lounge area at the center.
Security Checkpoints
The security checkpoints at AMA airport are monitored by the Federal TSA - Transportation Security Administration. Only passengers possessing tickets are allowed to proceed beyond any of the security checkpoints. All security checkpoints provide access to the concourses and airplane gates.

Terminal Tips
- Arrive 90 minutes before flight time in case of domestic flights, and two hours before flight time in case of international flights.
- Gifts should not be wrapped to save time
- All liquids, aerosols, and gels must be placed in small 3-ounce packages with clear plastics
- Fragile items should not be packed and must be shipped instead, if not carried in a carry on / luggage
- Get all information regarding baggage sizes, airline schedule, curbside pickup/dropoff, or wheelchairs, prior to reaching the airport
