SFO Airport Transportation Options
Taxis & Limousines
At San Francisco Airport, taxis and limousines are available at the designated zones outside each terminal. You can find them at:
- Terminal 1: Airporters, Shared Ride vans, taxis, TNCs, limos, charters
- Terminal 2: Shared Ride vans, taxis, TNCs, limos, charters
- Terminal 3: Airporters only

Private Shuttles & Buses
Private shuttles like SuperShuttle (800-258-3826) and San Francisco City Shuttle (888-850-7878) operate at SFO. They offer shared-ride services to various destinations. Shuttle pick-up points are located at the International Terminal and other designated areas.
Ride-Share Services
Ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft are available at SFO. Pick-up locations are clearly marked outside each terminal. Use the app to request a ride and follow the signs to the designated pick-up area.
Rental Cars
Rental car facilities are located at the SFO Rental Car Center. Access it via the AirTrain Blue Line. Major rental companies include Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Enterprise. Contact details for reservations can be found on their respective websites.
Public Transportation
By Train
BART Rapid Rail connects SFO to San Francisco and the East Bay. The station is located at the International Terminal. For BART schedules and ticket information, visit www.bart.gov or call 510-465-2278. BART also connects to Caltrain at Millbrae Station for further travel to San Francisco or San Jose.
By Bus
SamTrans buses provide 24-hour service to San Mateo County and parts of San Francisco. Key routes include:
- Routes KX, 292, 397, and 398: Direct terminal stops, 24/7 service
- Routes 140, 292, 397: Stops at Rental Car Center and United Airlines Maintenance Center
