Getting Around ALB Airport
ALB Airport features a main terminal that is structured over two levels, simplifying navigation. On Level 1, you'll find essential services like the main check-in area, baggage claim, car rentals, and taxi services. Level 2 is equipped with a public waiting area. To reach the gates, you'll pass through the security checkpoint that leads into a central atrium, providing access to all three concourses.
The airport has three concourses labeled A, B, and C. Concourse A, hosting Allegiant Air and United, and Concourse C, with gates primarily used by Southwest, are straightforward in their layout. Concourse B serves American, Delta, and JetBlue. Signage throughout the airport is clear, guiding you to your desired concourse and gate. Here are a few tips for getting around inside the airport:

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
ALB has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the Main Terminal, near the entrance to Concourse A. There are also additional security checkpoints located at the entrances to Concourse B and Concourse C. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time to pass through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Albany Airport offers a TSA PreCheck program that allows eligible passengers to use a dedicated security lane, which typically has shorter wait times. The TSA PreCheck lane is located at the main security checkpoint in the Main Terminal. In addition, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the airline's check-in counters.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Albany (NY) Airport has a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility located in the Main Terminal for international arrivals. Passengers will need to go through passport control and customs before exiting the airport. The CBP facility is open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Additionally, there are Global Entry kiosks available for expedited processing for eligible passengers.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At ALB Airport, there are TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available to help expedite the security process for travelers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster and more efficient screening experience by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To apply for TSA Pre Check, travelers can visit the TSA website and complete an online application.

Global Entry Locations
The airport is one of the many Global Entry locations in the United States. Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. At ALB, the Enrollment Center is located in the International Arrivals area of the terminal.

Baggage Claim Areas
Albany (NY) Airport has two baggage claim areas located on the lower level of the terminal. Baggage from all arriving flights is delivered to these areas, and passengers can easily locate their luggage by checking the flight information display screens for the assigned carousel number. The airport staff is always available to assist passengers with any baggage-related queries.
